Of Brookline since 1956, in his 103rd year, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was the beloved husband for 71 years of the late Evelina (Lanna) Natola; beloved father of Bridget DiDonato (Art, Sr.) of Aliquippa, Michael Natola of Nevada, and Toni Kifer of Pittsburgh; grandfather of Art DiDonato, Jr. (Adrianne) of Aspinwall, Ken DiDonato (Lynne) of Mt. Lebanon, Bob DiDonato (Lisa) of Shaler, Jenine Kifer Cole of Cranberry, Kelly Kifer Hart (Clay) of Grove City, and Nancy Kifer Reed (Scott) of West Virginia; great-grandfather of Lindsay and Al DiDonato, III, Toria, Ryker, Emily and Amber DiDonato and Morgan Hart.
Marco arrived from Italy in 1954. He was a member of S.E.I.U., and worked for PNC Bank for 25 years until his retirement in 1979. He worked at his second love, landscaping, for the rest of his life. Marco loved to tend to his huge garden (on a small lot), and was an expert at growing, pruning and grafting his fig and pear trees. When Evelina was alive, they enjoyed canning, cooking and travel. He had an infectious smile and was loved by all at Manorcare-Bethel Park, where he resided for the last 1-1/2 years.
Family and friends will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, Inc., 1065 Brookline Boulevard, 412-561-0380, on Tuesday, September 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, in Brookline.
