PATRICIA A. JANICKI
On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Patricia A. Janicki, affectionately known as "Patty" or "Giggy," of Brookline, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family.
Patty was the cherished wife and soulmate of James R. Janicki, with whom she shared nearly 40 years of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. As a devoted mother, she poured her heart into the lives of her daughters, Juliet L. Abel (John Znaczko) and Janelle L. Smith (Brendan), and found the greatest joy in being “Giggy” to her three adored grandchildren, Kyra, Tyler, and Kathryn.
Patty was a loving sister to Gloria Bondi (Jack) and the late Judy Carlucci (Bill), her eternal partner-in-crime. She was a beloved sister-in-law and out-law, She was also an adoring aunt to her nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and nephews, extending her boundless love to all corners of her family.
Patty lived a life rich with love, adventure, and generosity. Together with Jim, she had a passion for travel, creating legendary escapades with their friends, and turning every trip into a celebration. Creating magical moments of fun and adventure with her family brought her unmatched joy. She valued nothing more than the happiness of those she loved, and she made it her mission to create amazing memories for all of us whether on beach vacations, lake weekends, or hosting Groundhog Day dinners and rocking Christmas parties, where laughter and love filled the air.
An avid lover of vibrant flowers, the beach, Steelers football, and all things sparkly, Patty brought light, joy and sparkle to every life she touched. She welcomed friends, family, and even strangers into her home and heart. Patty had a unique gift for turning everyday moments into unforgettable memories, making the world a better place with her warmth and kindness. Her generosity knew no bounds. She gave always and without hesitation.
Patty did not want tears or sadness, she would want a celebration. We invite family and friends to join us in honoring her life at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home on Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection (St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish).
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a reflection of Patty’s loving and generous spirit.
Let us remember Patty with smiles, stories, and gratitude for the joy she brought to all our lives. She will forever sparkle in our hearts.
