Ngoc Van Nguyen, 79, who resided in Castle Shannon previously Brookline, co-owner of Mekong Restaurant in Dormont through 2015, passed away on January 29, 2026. Ngoc was known for his big smile, contagious personality and engaging conversations. He was dedicated to providing the best for his family through his hard work. He was deeply proud to have raised an inseparable family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have known him.
He was the devoted husband to Thanh and loving father to Nuong Chadwick (Ron), Van Paul (Eric), Linh Nguyen, Mila Yochum (Scott), Lisa Nguyen (Leo), Theresa Nguyen (Randy), John Nguyen and Phero Nguyen. He was the adoring grandfather to Daniel Chadwick (Chelsie), Nathan Chadwick (Jasmine), Sydina Holt (Zachary), Autumn Chadwick, Dylan Paul, Bradon Nguyen-Koch, Xuan Nguyen-Koch, Corbin Randolph, Kailyn Chichilla, Ben Borneman, Gary Andrew Borneman, Nikka Krupar, Rayna-Anh Krupar, Savanna Mays, Kennedy Mays, Xavier Mays, Chase Mays, Cole Mays, Yalona Nguyen, Yarean Nguyen, and John Nguyen, Jr. He was the cherished great-grandfather to Malcolm Holt and Lincoln Holt.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Resurrection - Saint Teresa of Kolkata Parish on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.. Visitation will take place at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Resurrection https://stteresakolkatapgh.org/.
