JAMES A. BENSON
Of Brookline, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Beloved husband of Joan M. “Judy”. Father of James A. (Colleen DeBona) and Judith B. Vogel (John). Brother of the late Arthur Benson, June Schneider and Harold Benson. “Bubba” was grandfather to Jordan, Hanna, Christian, Luke and Jacob.
Friends and family will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., on Sunday Only, 1-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 11 a.m., in the Church of the Resurrection (St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish). Interment with full military honors will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Jim was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean War, a Past Commander of American Legion Post #715, and was a retired printer with Peoples Gas Co. He will be remembered for his kindness, personality and sense of humor. Most importantly, he was the president and last surviving member of “The Brookline Mixed Nuts.” Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Avenue, Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
