On October 19, 2024, Francis Patrick Kane Jr., age 87, of Pittsburgh, peacefully departed this world to step into the presence of the Lord. The son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Kane, Frank was born on January 2, 1937. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda.
Raised in Wilkes Barre, PA, Frank grew to the towering height of six feet four and possessed a quiet, easy-going personality. Loving to work with numbers, he was employed in accounting at United States Steel until his retirement. His love for numbers continued and led him to daily follow the stock market and make wise investments. He freely offered good financial advice to those who sought his wisdom.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Lois J. Kane, whom he met at a dance in Sewickley. PA. Their mutual love for dancing continued for years and included different styles, such as square, round, ballroom and line. He also assisted Lois in her excellent achievements with photography. He faithfully followed the PITT Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his retirement, the couple enjoyed spending their winters in Texas and summers in Pittsburgh, PA. His wife, Lois, described him as stable and dependable. Family and friends knew to call him when they needed help.
Frank is also survived by his daughters, Karen Schrecengost and Kathleen Hussak, his sister Arlene Peelor; grandchildren Brittany Schrecengost, Matthew Hussak, Ryan (Chelsea) Hussak, and Kelsey (Michael) Jones; and great-grandchildren Caleb Hussak, Samuel Hussak, Kinsley Jones, and Layla Jones.
He is also survived by step-children Beth (John) Chiesa, David Johnson, Russell Johnson, Jane Johnson; step-grandchildren Elizabeth Chiesa, William Johnson and Sarah (Marc) Savage, step-great grandchildren Makenzie Johnson, Rosalie Johnson, and Cairo Savage. He is also survived by nephews Darien (Dana) Peelor and Brent (Deborah) Peelor.
