David Rea Obituary

On Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 David E. Rea, 76, of Brookline, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

His love for his family was immeasurable. Cherishing his memory are the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Sandra (Sandi Samson) Rea, his son, Brian D. Rea (Katie) and daughter, Lori R. Rea, as well as his 5 precious grandchildren, Evelyn Erion, Ace Erion, Teaghan Rea, Declan Rea and Killian Rea who all called him PapPap, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mildred R. (Duffy) and George L. Rea, 5 older brothers, Clayton (Margie), Curtis (Margie), Charles (Linda Sue), Keith, and Kenneth (Patricia) Rea as well as his son, Christopher T. Rea.

David was a graduate from Carrick High School. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and was a Security Policeman from 1971-1974. He then worked in sales for many years. Dave also volunteered as a baseball coach for the Brookline Little League Association. He cherished getting together for family dinners, playing cards with family and friends, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and sharing his love of God with everyone.

Friends will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, 1065 Brookline Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15226 on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A Blessing Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., at the Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home. 

Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with military honors.  Friends are invited to meet at the DeBor Funeral Home at 9:15 am.
