Age 93, of Baldwin Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born February 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Wallace and Mary (Carik) Johnston. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Pisano; brother, Wallace “Butch” Johnston; and twin daughters Diane and Donna Pisano. She is survived by her children, Carol (Pisano) Hodgkiss of Brookline, Robert Pisano of Bethel Park and Nicholas Pisano of Baldwin Township; grandchildren, David Fitzpatrick and Bo (Kahla) Hodgkiss; great-grandchild, Decker Hodgkiss; and sister-in-law Linda (Anthony) Joseph. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Catherine was a long-time member of Resurrection and St. Pius X Churches in Brookline. She worked at National Biscuit until she became a caring and loving stay-at-home mother and grandmother. Kay loved nothing more in life than to swim. She also enjoyed being at the beach, playing bingo, bowling, casinos, and most importantly being the best Mom, Grammy and Great Grammy in the entire world. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan as well as her grandsons' biggest cheerleader.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider donating to the American Heart Association in Kay’s honor. We also ask that you hug and enjoy your loved ones this holiday season as life is precious and short. Friends and family will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 18, 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10 a.m., in the Church of the Resurrection (St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish).
