Biagio "Blase" Toffolo Obituary

Blase Toffolo, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Anno Domini.  Son of the late Leonardo and Albina Toffolo.  Beloved husband of the late Lucina Rosalia Falzari.  Devoted father of Roberto L. (Lisa Maria) Toffolo and infant Louis Ernesto Toffolo.  Preceded in death by brother Andreá Toffolo of New York and sister Luigina Bidoli of Meduno, Italy.  Blase is also survived by brother-in-law Pietro Bidoli, nephew Louis Toffolo (Miranda and children) and several nieces and nephews in Italy.

Born and baptized in Frisanco, Italy, Biagio emigrated from Italy on May 3, 1950.  He joined the U. S. Army at Ft. Hood, Texas.  He was honorably discharged and became a naturalized citizen.  He spent seven years in Altoona, PA as an amateur boxer, and later a Union bricklayer.  His cousins Johnny, Louie and Eddie Bravin were his mentors.  After settling in Pittsburgh, Blase became a member of BAC Local Union #9.  After retiring, he spent 20 years volunteering for Meals on Wheels and assisting at various funeral masses.  He enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching sports and talking about politics and world events.  Viva Friul.  Salve Maria!
