MOLINDA, JOANN A.
With her family at her side, JoAnn Shenkel Molinda passed away at her home on December 4, 2017. Her husband John, sons John and Greg, daughters Sue, Jeanne, Donna and Allie have many beautiful memories of the extraordinary woman, wife and mother that JoAnn was. She was so proud of her 15 grandchildren: Anna, DJ, Abbey, Sierra, Seth, Katie, Joey, Glen, Jackie, Molly, Bubs, Maddie, Jenny, Matt, and Amelia.
JoAnn was Pittsburgh's greatest ambassador. She received her teaching degree from the University of Pittsburgh and was a Panther through and through. JoAnn passed along to her children and grandchildren her passion for reading. She spent many Saturdays at the Brookline Library with her kids. She was also a tireless advocate for children, always boosting their confidence and inspiring them. We miss her already.
Friends and family will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1065 Brookline Blvd., on Friday, December 8, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, at 11 a.m., in St. Pius X Church (Brookline).
We hope you will celebrate JoAnn's life with us at Greg’s home following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213; www.carnegielibrary.org/give or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001; https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/
