HILDEGARDE I. “HIBBY” “NANU” (BARLEMAN) EASTLAND

Age 93, of Greensburg, PA (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA) passed away on August 23, 2017, at her summer home in Centerville, PA (Canadohta Lake).

Hibby was born in Pittsburgh on March 3, 1924.  She married J. Albert Eastland on May 13, 1948; he preceded her in death in 1993.  She was also preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas “Tommy” and Paul.

She is survived by three children:  Gary (Diana) Eastland of Stockton, CA; Barbara (Rick) Makohus of Centerville, PA and Maria (Rocco) Panucci of Greensburg, PA.  “Nanu” was grandmother of Tricia (Greg) Grantham, Jazmin and Corey Eastland, and Sam, John and Adam Panucci; also great-grandmother of Jacob and Lucas Grantham.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Alberta Shepard, of Pittsburgh, brother-in-law, Bob James, of California, and several special nieces and nephews.

Hibby enjoyed spending her summers at Canadohta Lake with family and friends, where she was a summer member of Our Lady of Fatima Chapel.

Friends and family will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, Inc., 1065 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA, 412-561-0380, on Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-8 p.m; Mass of Christian Burial Monday, at 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Loreto Church.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 406 W. Oak St., Titusville, PA 16354.
