NATHANAEL ROBERT LAND was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 31, 1981, to the great joy of his parents.  As an "Army Brat," he traveled the world with his family, living in various parts of the states, Germany and Italy.  While attending high school in Harlem, Georgia, he participated in football, track, and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC).  He graduated from high school with honors, and was awarded a ROTC scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh.  There he studied Computer Science, and prepared to become a commissioned military officer, his childhood dream.  His life was forever altered when he was diagnosed in 2003 with a very rare cancerous tumor on his femur.  This event prevented him from joining the military, and his life changed course.  He continued to live life to the fullest, and graduated from "Pitt" with a Bachelor of Science degree.  On June 3, 2006, he married his college sweetheart, Joselyn, an Air Force officer, and they continued to travel together in the military family.  Nathan worked as a website developer in Texas, Florida and Maryland.  Always the life of the party, and the one who made everyone laugh, he was known as "#1" in the family.  His greatest joy came on November 5, 2013, when Nathanael became a daddy!  His daughter was the joy of his life, and he loved to play legos and superheroes with her.  Along with his wife, Nathanael is survived by his 2-year-old daughter, Rosette, his parents, Lori and Bob, brothers, Joel and Micah, sister, Moriah, and family and friends.  Although he is gone, he will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.

Friends will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, Inc., 1065 Brookline Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA, 412-561-0380, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.  A service will be held at DeBor Funeral Home on Friday at 8 a.m., followed by interment at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, in Bridgeville, PA.
