Age 92, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. He will always be remembered as a warm, loving, husband to Eileen, his wife of 65 years, and patriarch to his family. He and his wife had six children: Brian (Jennifer), Kathleen Ann, Elaine (Anthony), Marie (Henry), Jeffrey (Michelle), and Darlene (Timothy); 13 grandchildren: James (Agata), Eileen (Daniel), David, Sean (Lucy), Ryan, Amanda, Brian, Maria, Christina, Sabrina, Victoria, Ava, and Brooke. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Natalia, Henry, Liam, and Luciana and his brother Rudolph. He is preceded in death by parents Carmen and Helen Bocchicchio, sisters Antoinette Skrletts, and Jean Zitelli.
Mario's warm personality, sense of humor, loving smile, loyalty, and genuine consideration for others will be fondly remembered. He was a WW II Veteran who served in the Army’s 110th and 28th infantry divisions in Germany, France, and Belgium. Upon completing his duty with the Army, Mario became a horologist starting his own business out of his home of 56 years where he simultaneously raised his six children. He was a former member of St. Justin’s CWV Bowling League. Mario also enjoyed gardening, and will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Family and friends will be received at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 16, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of the Resurrection 1100 Creedmoor Avenue (Brookline) on Friday, November 17 at 10 AM. Interment to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, 250 Wible Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
