Age 31, of Brookline, from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, on Thursday, January 28, 2016.  Beloved son of Lois and Edward E. (retired Pittsburgh firefighter); brother of Wendy A. (Christopher) Burek; uncle of Avy, Kasey and Teac.  Friends may call at Frank F. DeBor Funeral Home, Inc., 1065 Brookline Blvd., 412-561-0380, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.  There will be no visitation on Sunday evening.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Resurrection, Brookline.  E. J. was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, a talented card player and a valiant soldier against his disease.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
